ETF education

Understand the funds before you form an opinion on them.

ETF Pulse publishes short, research-based explainers in English about exchange-traded funds: what they track, what they cost, and how they work. We explain mechanics; we do not tell anyone what to buy.

What we cover

Each piece focuses on one question and states where its facts come from.

ETF basics

What an ETF is, how it differs from a mutual fund, and what happens when you buy or sell one.

Indexes

What an index is, which companies a given index includes, and why two funds can track very different ones.

Fund costs

Expense ratios and other costs: what they mean, where funds disclose them, and how they add up over time.

Investing mechanics

Concepts such as diversification, concentration, rebalancing and tracking, explained without jargon.

How we make content

Facts come from primary, official sources wherever possible: fund issuers' documents, regulatory filings and index providers. A statement that cannot be traced to a source is left out rather than guessed. Figures shown in a video are tied to the source they come from and to the date that source gives.

Content is produced with the help of software, including AI tools, and checked against its sources before publication. Errors can still happen; if you find one, please tell us.

Education, not advice. ETF Pulse content is general and educational. It is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Consider your own situation, and a qualified professional, before making decisions.

How we publish our videos

ETF Pulse uses an internal publishing tool, operated only by the channel owner, for the ETF Pulse YouTube channel. It is not a product or service offered to other people, and it does not access anyone else's channel.

  1. Owner authorization. The channel owner authorizes the tool through Google's OAuth consent screen, granting only two permissions: uploading videos (youtube.upload) and viewing the channel's own videos (youtube.readonly).
  2. Owner approval. A finished video is uploaded only after the owner has reviewed and approved that exact version. Uploads are private unless the owner explicitly approves another visibility.
  3. Verification. After an upload, the tool reads the video back from the channel to confirm it exists with the requested visibility and metadata, and it checks the channel's recent uploads so that the same video is not published twice.

The details of what is accessed, where it is stored and how to revoke access are in our Privacy Policy.
